Short Strangle
A short strangle sells an out-of-the-money call and an out-of-the-money put at the same expiration to collect premium when the underlying is expected to trade in a stagnant range or implied volatility is expected to fall. Maximum gain is the credit received; risk on the call side is theoretically unlimited, so position sizing and risk management are critical.
