Long Strangle
A long strangle buys an out-of-the-money call and an out-of-the-money put at the same expiration to profit from large moves in either direction or from a jump in implied volatility. It is cheaper than a long straddle but requires a larger move to break even. Often used around earnings or other catalysts when direction is uncertain.
