Short Call

A short call is a bearish single-leg strategy where the seller collects premium and expects the underlying to stay below the strike at expiration. Because a "naked" short call has theoretically unlimited risk, it is normally hedged with long stock (covered call) or paired inside a spread. Maximum gain is the credit received; breakeven equals strike plus premium.
